While you might see a day at the beach as a way to relax, soak in some rays, and be generally lazy, some artists spend their beach time working extremely hard at creating beautiful sand art. Though not a very common art-form, sand art can be incredibly detailed, beautiful, and creative. Here are a few of our favorite works of art for your enjoyment.
10 Sharks Under The Sea
Imagine taking a pleasant walk on the beach with your date or significant other when suddenly you come across this sand monument to sharks. Hopefully you're not prone to high-pitched, fear-induced screeching by the sight, I mean, they're only sand sharks, right? Also, they both seem to be smiling.
9 Roughed up
This guy looks like he's not having such a great day. Hope he didn't "soil" his pants!
8 Husband & Wife
Upon closer inspection, the couple seem to be real people covered in sand. What do you think?
7 The Simpsons
From the opening credits of the Simpsons. Very cool!
6 Gulliver
Gulliver's gotten himself into quite a pickle.
5 Lock-ness monster
Poor kid, all he wanted was to build a sand castle by the beach.
4 Sand Crocodile
Don't you hate it when you're walking along the beach and suddenly run into a giant crocodile? I know I do.

Now you can find Ariel and her friends from the little mermaid down by the sea - literally! It took the artists a couple of weeks, but their sand masterpiece truly is a sight to behold, with amazing attention to detail.
