Marina - Rocco Granata
Mi sono innamorato di Marina
una ragazza mora ma carina
ma lei non vuol saperne del mio amore
cosa faro' per conquistarle il cuor.
Un girono l'ho incontrata sola sola,
il cuore mi batteva mille all'ora.
Quando le dissi che la volevo amare
mi diede un bacio e l'amor sboccio'...
Marina, Marina, Marina
Ti voglio al piu' presto sposar
Marina, Marina, Marina
Ti voglio al piu' presto sposar
O mia bella mora
no non mi lasciare
non mi devi rovinare
oh, no, no, no, no, no...

When a man loves a woman
Can't keep his mind on nothing else
He'll trade the world
For the good thing he's found
If she's bad he can't see it
She can do no wrong
Turn his back on his best friend
If he put her down
When a man loves a woman
Spend his very last dime
Trying to hold on to what he needs
He'd give up all his comfort
Sleep out in the rain
If she said that's the way it ought to be
Well, this man loves a woman
I gave you everything I had
Trying to hold on to your precious love
Baby, please don't treat me bad
When a man loves a woman
Down deep in his soul
She can bring him such misery
If she plays him for a fool
He's the last one to know
Loving eyes can't ever see
When a man loves a woman
He can do no wrong
He can never own some other girl
Yes when a man loves a woman
I know exactly how he feels
'Cause baby, baby, baby, you're my world
When a man loves a woman

One Little Girl Innocently Starts a Remarkable Orchestral Flashmob Playing ‘Ode to Joy’
Mention classical music to most people and they won’t be interested in it. However just occasionally you will find a piece of music that manages to transcend all musical genres and all ages of people, as you will clearly witness here. Ode to Joy is a passage from Beethoven’s 9th symphony and combines the very best of both classical instrumental and choral music. However what we think is so special about this particular flashmob isn’t just the musicians and choristers, but the crowd itself. Many of us like to ‘people watch’ and what better place to do it than here in the Plaça da Sant Roc, Sabadell, a suburb of Barcelona in Spain.
The beginning is truly delightful as a young girl drops a coin in the double bass player’s hat. For those innocent bystanders wandering past or sitting on seats nearby, they can have no idea what will happen over the next five minutes. However as more and more musicians begin to appear, the looks of curiosity and pleasure on the faces of onlookers is a delight to watch and helps you to understand why this piece of music is titled Ode to Joy. As the whole piece begins to grow and take shape, it seems the youngest of children were enjoying this as much as anyone there and it is the universal look of ‘joy’ and delight on the faces of all who gathered to listen which makes this perhaps the most enjoyable of flashmobs we have seen. We don’t often include musical pieces on Stylisheve, so do let us know if you would like some more from all genres. In the meantime, keep a look out for a remarkable video of Michael Jackson’s The way you Make me Feel by a young Hawaian girl, Kawei, using just a looper, which we will be publishing soon.

Donna Donna
On a wagon bound for market
There's a calf with a mournful eye
High above him there's a swallow
Winging swiftly through the sky
How the winds are laughing
They laugh with all their might
Laugh and laugh the whole day through
And half the summer's night
Donna, Donna, Donna, Donna
Donna, Donna, Donna, Don
Donna, Donna, Donna, Donna
Donna, Donna, Donna, Don
"Stop complaining", said the farmer
Who told you a calf to be?
Why don't you have wings to fly with
Like the swallow so proud and free?
How the winds are laughing
They laugh with all their might
Laugh and laugh the whole day through
And half the summer's night
Donna, Donna, Donna, Donna
Donna, Donna, Donna, Don
Donna, Donna, Donna, Donna
Donna, Donna, Donna, Don
Calves are easily bound and slaughtered
Never knowing the reason why
But whoever treasures freedom
Like the swallow has learned to fly
How the winds are laughing
They laugh with all their might
Laugh and laugh the whole day through
And half the summer's night
Donna, Donna, Donna, Donna
Donna, Donna, Donna, Don
Donna, Donna, Donna, Donna
Donna, Donna, Donna, Don
"O Fortuna" is a medieval Latin Goliardic poem written early in the 13th century, part of the collection known as the Carmina Burana. It is a complaint about fate and Fortuna, the personification of luck in Roman mythology.
In 1935–36, "O Fortuna" was set to music by German composer Carl Orff as a part of "Fortuna Imperatrix Mundi", the opening and closing movement of his cantata Carmina Burana. It was first staged by the Frankfurt Opera on 8 June 1937. It opens at a slow pace with thumping drums and choir that drops quickly into a whisper building slowly in a steady crescendo of drums and short string and horn notes peaking on one last long powerful note and ending abruptly. The tone is modal, until the last 9 bars. A performance takes a little over two and a half minutes.
Orff's setting of the poem has become immensely popular and has been performed by countless classical music ensembles and popular artists. It can be heard in numerous movies and television commercials and has become a staple in popular culture, setting the mood for dramatic or cataclysmic situations."O Fortuna" topped a list of the most-played classical music of the past 75 years in the United Kingdom.
