The local government and 80 businesses in Mexico City organised a super sandwich in the hope it would give the Mexican torta a much-needed boost in sales, pitting itself against imported fast food chains; measuring in at 58-metres long the monster sandwich sets the new world record for the Longest Torta sandwich, according to the World Record Academy:
