The Middle Eastern country of Jordan is home to many breathtaking views. Here are three of Jordan's amazing sights.
Number 3 -- The vast ancient city of Petra is the country's greatest tourist attraction. Entrance to the city can be obtained via a narrow gorge which is encompassed by views of 80 meter high cliffs. Carved pink rock mountains surround and decorate the area, serving as a natural and cultural wonder and representative of the Arabian settlers who established Petra.
Number 2 - The UNESCO World Heritage site, Wadi Rum is a sprawling desert that leaves visitors in awe of the magical beauty. The winds and harsh weather in the area left behind monolithic rockscapes that rise up to 1,750 meters high. Amidst the towering rock formations is an expansive landscape that seem to have no bounds. 4000-year-old rock drawings can be seen and canyons along with water holes are just waiting to be explored.
Number 1 -- The Dead Sea is a spectacular treasure of Jordan. Serving as the lowest point on planet Earth, the Dead Sea resides 417 meters below sea level. The water has the highest concentration level of salt anywhere. That salt prevents any marine life forms in the lake. Visitors relax in the warm, soothing water for the healing properties of the salt.
